Good evening and hope you have had a chance to check out the project we posted on Wednesday.  As you can see, we used a jacquard upholstery fabric.  There are many upholstery fabrics that work great for drapery.  In addition, since the jacquard upholsteries are a little heavier in weight, they block the sunlight quite nicely.  They come in a variety of nice patterns and colors. 

When sewing with upholstery, you will need to determine how much give it will offer.  If you want it to gather, then you will need to find an upholstery that is more forgiving than some.  This particular pattern that we chose is one that does not gather easily.  This pattern is very striking and to gather it would be disappointing.
